Midweek Mixtape #2

Last Saturday I was at Takedown Festival in Southampton reviewing for Hit The Floor Magazine. The day was fantastic, for me there is nothing better than watching live music with good company whilst having a few cheeky drinks. This year a variety of bands performed, including Natives, Don Broco and Mallory Knox - all of which you can listen to below.

IF YOU COULD SEE ME NOW - THE SCRIPT

HOLD ON - DON BROCO

YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL - LANA DEL REY

STAND FOR SOMETHING - NATIVES

LIGHTHOUSE - MALLORY KNOX

BOSTON SQUARE - DEAF HAVANA

As for UPRAWR's after party, well that just got messy! Although I am quite impressed with my 'pull a sober face' which you can see in the photo above. Did any of you attend? If you did I would love to hear your thoughts about the day.If not what do you think of the videos above - leave a comment below!

Ebay Wishlist #5

Life has been so hectic at the moment. I am constantly revising for exams and finding it hard to keep up with my other duties at Hit The Floor let alone my blog! Hopefully when I find myself having a spare five minutes, I can share with you some of the amazing product reviews I have piled up. But in the mean time,  I've managed to put together another quick eBay wishlist post for you.

My first find was this striped pinafore. Similar to the ones sold in Topshop the dramatic piece is a summer must have - especially if you plan on channeling  the ever so popular monochrome trend.  Priced at £10.99 it's a bargain! As for accessories, I love this 80s style retro Casino watch. Being sold at £23.99, you can be a blast from the past by wearing it with a pair of denim dungarees and white crop top. As seen on the likes of Nicki Minaj, this Trust No Bitch necklace is sure to turn heads. The statement necklace comes with a matching pair of earrings and can be bought for £10.00 - what a style steal!

This pair of peep toe sandals sell for £27.99. The extra chunky platform sole is a great way for short girls, like me, to look a couple of inches taller. Finally, last but not least, why not at a splash of colour to an outfit with this orange Aint No Wifey beanie. The beanie retails at £8.40 - Rita Ora eat your heart out!

Ebay Wishlist #4

With the weather slowly improving it's really starting to feel like summer! So, I've been on an eBay hunt to find some fashionable pairs of shorts and must have sunglasses with hope that this gorgeous weather will continue long enough for me to wear them!

My first find was a killer pair of circle sunglasses. The sunglasses are available to buy in a variety of prints and colours but my personal favourite is the tortoise shell ones photographed above. Priced at a mere £6.49 they're a bargain! My next find was a pair of paisley shorts that retail at £19.99. With a navy and orange print, the loose style shorts are sure to turn heads this summer. Wear them up with a lace crochet top and pair of tan platform sandals and you have yourself an outfit.

Every stylish outfit needs accessories. I love this bohemian styled tassel bag. The bag is only £9.99 and has a  long detachable handle which is perfect for turning a casual accessory essential into a statement night time piece. As for jewellery, this gold chain lion necklace is sure to make sure all eyes are on you. Photographed on Rihanna, the necklace has been rocking the world of Hollywood. Fortunately for us the necklace doesn't have the Hollywood price tag and instead sells for £10.00. Finally why not team your favourite summer dress up with this pair of £29.99 platform sandals?

Wardrobe Wants - Dixi Jewellery #2

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9

Every fashion lover knows that jewellery can make or break an outfit. It can give it that extra little detail that it so desperately needs or can lead to one of our fashion faux pas of over accessorising. When I stumbled across online jewellery retailer Dixi on the lovely Annalise's blog, I knew I had to share some of my favourite pieces with you all!

I'm a huge lover of gem stones and crystals so Dixi's vintage meets modern rings are straight up my street. My favourites include the Extli stacking ring set, priced at a mere £6.00, and the equally affordable Edison Aztec rings. With much larger stone settings, Dixi's Alder Tibetan ring and Adrana Turquoise ring are sure to add a touch of bohemian to any outfit. As for sparkle why not go all out by wearing The Midnight Blues ring - retailing at a respectable £8.00.

And it's not just Dixi's rings that have captured my heart. I love their necklaces too! Turquoise hues are a bo-ho summer must have - style this Icicle Crystal Bullet necklace up with a lace top and pair of cut offs whilst pretending you're partying at Coachella. Turn heads with this Anasa Multi Arrow necklace and finally accessorise with a little wrist candy by wearing this Etched Floral bangle.

Haul - La Moda #2

I was over the moon when the lovely La Moda contacted me about reviewing their bags on Beauty and Rags. The jewellery and handbag brand offers high quality fashionable products at amazing prices - literally! With the latest bags all being sold, without the designer price tag, La Moda is the place to go if you're looking for some killer arm candy.

LA MODA - RITA TAN* £22.00

The first gorgeous bag I received was the Rita Tan. La Moda's Rita is available in an array of colours including tan, brown and black. The bucket bag is made from a high quality faux leather and has a attachable long handle. With stud detailing, the bag is the ultimate statement piece for any summer outfit. I can't wait to team it up with my favourite summer dress and a pair of gorgeous wedges.

LA MODA - ASHLIE BLUE* £16.00

The second bag I received was the Ashlie Brown. Unfortunately the bag is now sold out but is available to buy in a striking blue! Again the bag is made from faux leather and features an attachable handle. The leopard detailing on the Ashlie bag is sure to turn heads and brighten up any outfit. Style it with a pair of cut off jeans and white crochet top and you have yourself a summer look!

I can't wait to show you all a closer look at my new bags in a upcoming outfit post, so keep your eyes peeled! For the meantime, make sure you check out La Moda's website to see some of their other stylish pieces - my personal favourites include Summer Black, Maise Blue and  Naomi Tan. You can also keep up to date with the brand on their Facebook and Twitter platforms.

Product Review - Marie Claire Freebies

Everyone loves a freebie right? Well this month Marie Claire were offering all their readers two! The May issue of the glossy magazine came with Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturiser* which is usually sold for £3.47 and a Ciaté nail polish called Sand Dune* that has the price tag of £11.00 - bargain!

I've tried out both products and am extremely impressed by them, particularly the moisturiser. Unfortunately I suffer from dry skin so Jergen's product is  literally a god send! I use it every night before I go to bed and in the morning before applying make-up. The previous moisturisers I've used have caused me to have break-outs and left my skin feeling oily and greasy - yuck! But Jergen does not of that!

The product is easy to use and makes your skin feel ridiculously soft. My skin doesn't feel greasy when I apply it and best of all you only need to use a little bit to see results. I apply a thin layer every time I use it and can already see an improvement in the look and texture of my skin. If you're in a similar situation to me and have dry skin it's definitely worth picking up this month's issue of Marie Claire and trying this out. Lets face if it isn't for you you're not wasting money and will get a good read just buying the mag!

As you can see in the swatch above, I also tried out the nail polish. The colour is a gorgeous gold shade and such a summer must have - I can already imagine myself wearing it several times matching it up with my summer outfits. I was also really impressed with the longevity of the product. Along with applying it on the false nail above, I am also wearing it on my real nails. Considering it's been on there for the past four days I can barely see any chips or flaking.

Application and pigmentation of the product was a little disappointing but nothing you can't over come with a little patience. You will need at least three coats in order to achieve the shade in the photo above, and even that is a little patchy, however it may be slightly different if you paint it on real nails. What do you think of this month's freebies in Marie Claire? Have you bought the magazine or tried any of these products out?
